Where were you when the 1st black president was sworn in?!

Today is one of those defining moments in history-- for the 1st time ever, the United States has sworn in a black president. Jayden and I went to Jenny and Clay's house to watch the inauguration and we sat in tears, thankful for those who fought so hard for this very moment, hopeful of what's to come in the future, and proud to a part of such an incredible moment of history. Jayden will have no memory of this moment, but when he talks about this in his high school US History class, I will show him this entry and tell him where we were and how important this day was.

A little slice of paradise...all to ourselves

We heard on the news that the weather is supposed to go back to normal (50's and rainy) in the next few days, so we decided to go back to the beach today since we probably won't be able to go again for another couple of months. We headed to Half Moon Bay and were planning on going to the same beach we always go to, but Daddy decided we should be adventurous and check out a new beach nearby. We drove South and stopped at some random farm that had a sign for coastal access. We had to walk down a LONG pebbly road and of course I was whining to Jer saying we should've just gone to our regular beach, when all of a sudden we saw these stairs that led to this amazing secluded beach. Jayden of course had a blast running around, jumping in his hole daddy made for him, picking up shells and proudly showing his daddy what he found...we are already planning our next trip back to this amazing beach!

The beach was completely secluded

we let him go and he just ran around everywhere with a huge smile on his face

Sunset at Half Moon Bay

The weather this week has been unreal-- we've been to the beach 3 times in the last 6 days! Jayden loves the beach, and so do I, and it's only about 15-20 minutes away, so I'm pretty sure we're going to keep going every afternoon until the cold and rain come back.

Daddy's art show

San Francisco City Hall...where the art show (including Daddy's art) will be displayed for the next 3 months

The Art of Change: an exhibition examining the influence of art and music on social changes and movements of the last five decades. The story of how art influences and communicates change is told through a series of works from Wolfgang's Vault, the largest archive in the world dedicated to the history of live music...and Daddy designed EVERYTHING for the exhibit (including the commemorative poster for the exhibit seen on the left)!!!

Hooray for Daddy!!!!!

Wow Daddy, you made that?!

Yeah Daddy!!!!

Just another January day...hanging out at the beach!

Jayden had so much fun at the beach yesterday, and since the weather is still in the mid 70's, I decided to take him back today. He had a blast running around on the sand, chasing the seagulls, digging in the sand, picking up shells, and running away from the waves.

Pretty impressed with this self-timer pic!

January heat wave = BEACH DAY!!!!!
