Oh happy days =)

We've been "homeowners" for the last 2 months, but it hasn't felt like it since we had to rent the house back to the sellers...but, as of today, it is officially all ours!!!!!! Today was the 1st time we've seen the house completely empty and it is HUGE! We are going to have a very empty house for a while since we don't really have that much furniture. It definitely hasn't hit me yet that in a few days we will wake up in our very own house...I'm so excited and just want to be settled already. We are meeting with the sellers tomorrow to go through everything, and will spend all day tomorrow cleaning, Thursday our PODS arrive and the movers will be unloading our stuff for us that evening, and then onto the chaos on unpacking and figuring out what goes where. The house is in pretty good shape- could definitely use some new paint, but we're way too anxious to wait to move in, so that will have to happen later. I hope Jayden is ok with the transition- poor little guy has gone through a lot in the last several months, and has finally gotten completely comfortable at G & G's, and now we're going to change his world once again. I think he'll be pretty psyched when he realizes how much space he has, and sees all of his toys that have been packed away for months.

The best part of living in SoCal

Jeremy and I absolutely loved living in the Bay Area, but there were 2 major problems with living in NorCal...one, there was no way we could've EVER afforded a house, and, two, we were too far away from our family. Over the last 3 months, Jayden has absolutely loved being so close to more of our family...he LOVES spending time with his grandparents and absolutely adores spending time with his uncles and cousins.

This weekend, Daddy had a work event in LA that he wasn't planning on attending, but, at the last minute, we decided it would be fun to go up to LA and make a weekend out of it. Turns out, the work event was a disappointment, but we are SO glad we went to LA as we had an awesome weekend hanging out with the fam.

On Saturday morning we drove up to LA and spent the day with Uncle Andrew and Uncle Jamie. Jayden is in love with his uncles, and couldn't have been any happier being in LA hanging out at Uncle Jamie (and soon to be Uncle AG's) house (he especially enjoyed snuggling up with Uncle Jamie's stuffed animals).

This morning, we all headed over to Manhattan Beach to hang out with Gail and Jeff and all the cousins. Jayden was in heaven with all the toys and all the kids to play with...he fell in love with his cousin Adam, who took him under his wing and spent the day playing with him. We had a great day, and managed to make it back to San Diego in under 2 hrs (yeah for no traffic). We are all exhausted (Jayden went down for the night at 6pm), but so happy to be lucky enough to have such amazing family members so close by. Jayden is definitely one lucky, loved little boy.

Father's Day Weekend

We had an action-packed father's day weekend (yes, like every other celebration, we made father's day into a 3 day event because we just love to have a reason to go on adventures and celebrate!). Jayden and I planned the weekend events and told Daddy that he was not allowed to work the entire weekend...the 1st work-free weekend in a LONG time!

On Friday night, Daddy came home from work early and we walked over to our favorite restaurant, Joe's Crab Shack. We gave Daddy our 1st present at the restaurant (which he is displaying in the picture below)...

On Saturday morning, we woke Daddy up kinda early and told him we had a surprise and that we couldn't be late. We walked down the street to the train station, and took the Coaster north to Encinitas. We had a picnic lunch packed and the plan was to spend the day at the beach and then take the train back downtown that night...but mother nature had her own plan and it rained the whole time we were there...so we caught an early train back home and didn't get to play on the beach...it was a bummer, but it was still pretty exciting to see Jayden have so much fun on the train!

When Jayden woke up from his nap, we decided to head to the zoo (the rain had stopped, but it still wasn't beach weather). We spent most of the time in the Children's area petting the animals, feeding them, and chasing after them.

We came home and had a BBQ dinner...before Daddy turned the grill on we gave Daddy his 2nd present...a chef's apron that Jayden painted all by himself (well, Mommy helped a little). Daddy loved it and promised to wear it every time he grills (which hopefully will be a lot once we're in our new house).

Today we let Daddy sleep in until 10:30!!!!!!! We brought Daddy a coffee and a bagel and gave him his 3rd present...a handmade card from Jayden and a life is good t-shirt. We then packed up some lunch and headed to our favorite place- Coronado. We spent a few hrs at the beach, came home for nap time, and then headed back to Coronado for the Sunday Summer concert.

Daddy said it was the best weekend ever, and we hope so because he's the best Daddy ever. Jeremy, you are an amazing father (and husband) and we are so lucky that you belong to us! Thank you for loving us so much, for always putting us first, and for always making us feel so special. I couldn't have asked or dreamt of a better father for my child and I can't wait to watch your relationship with Jayden grow even stronger over the years. We love you Daddy...Happy Father's Day!!!!!!!
