Watch out folks, we have a baby on the move...and he has a tooth!

Wow, Jayden is changing every day now, and it's insane to see how quickly he is growing and learning. He woke up Monday morning and gave us a big smile and we noticed a white spot on his gums...this little guy FINALLY has a tooth (after 3 months of non-stop drool!). He's been a little fussy and insanely clingy, but can you blame the kid- I can't imagine how much it must hurt to have a tooth break through your gums. His 2nd one is on the way and will probably be here any day now. Not only did this big boy get a tooth, but he now is mobile. It's not a real crawl yet, but he can move around quite a bit now. He's also able to use his hands to play with toys while he's on his belly. And he can now go from his belly to almost sitting- CRAZY!!!! Yesterday he sat in the shopping cart for the 1st time and had so much fun (I'll have to take a picture next time we go shopping). He also sat in a highchair when we went out to eat. I can't believe how big our little boy is getting. I wish there was a pause button so I could just slow things down a bit!
On the move!!

Hanging out with the Axleys

Paul, Loni, Ava (and Hanna) FINALLY came to visit us this past weekend and we had so much fun hanging out with them! Ava and Jayden finally got a chance to bond (the last time they met, Jayden was busy crying the entire time). We spent the weekend hanging out, touring San Francisco, eating yummy food and enjoying the perfect weather. We even had a night out without the babies--thanks Sarah!! They left yesterday (after an eventful morning) and we already miss them. The next time we see them, they will be a family of 4!! We love you Axleys- thank you for coming to visit!!!!

Ok, I'll just hold on to you so you can't leave me

TGIF!!!!!

We started out the week by going to Jayden's 6 month Dr appt. The Dr. said he is doing great- he's 27" and weighs 16lbs 12 oz. J had to get his 6 month shots, but was a champ and only screamed for a few seconds. The Dr. gave us the go ahead to give J three meals a day. His new favorite food of the week is green beans (weird, I know!). We reintroduced peas and he ate the whole container. So far the only food that he HATES is avocado. J's teeth seem to be getting closer to the top of his gums- I have no idea when they will actually join us, but this kid chews and gnaws on EVERYTHING. I started giving him frozen peach slices in his mesh feeder and he goes crazy (weird because he's not that big of a fan of peach purees, but loves them frozen).

J is still talking up a storm and we have conversations all day long. He will talk, then pause and wait for me to talk, and then he'll talk again- it's so cute! He is laughing more now too, although his laughs are reserved for VERY special occasions, like early morning diaper changes or belly rubs by daddy at night. The biggest change this week has been in his movement. If you put him down, he immediately gets on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth (and then does a face plant). He can take a "step" with his knees, but he still doesn't understand that he has to use his hands/arms to move. He gets very frustrated and screams- poor kid wants to move so badly. I'm happy that he cannot crawl yet... hopefully he won't figure this out any time soon!

Since J can now sit on his own, we moved him to the other side of the tub (where he now gets to sit, instead of laying down in a reclined position). He now no longer wants to play with daddy in the tub, he just likes to sit and investigate all of his bath toys. We can't believe that he's really becoming such a big boy!

Our friends Paul, Loni and their daughter Ava are coming to visit us this weekend and we're sooooooooooooooo excited. The last time we saw them J was 6 weeks old and Ava was 7 months old...it's been a while! We cannot wait to see them and show them around the Bay Area.

Here are some pics from the week...

Yeah, naked time!!

Jayden's new favorite toy- thanks Suzanne & Jerry

How am I ever going to say no to this face!?

This kid LOVES the swings. When you push him he squeals and kicks his legs like crazy!

Hiking with my new ergo- love this thing (way easier than the bjorn and you can use it as a backpack too!)

So cute...J now "hugs" (i.e. holds on to you) when you hold him. It's such an amazing feeling!

Happy 6 month b-day Jayden!!!!!!

Wow, our little man is 6 months old today. I have no idea where the time has gone. Everyone tells you that time just flies by, but you don’t really get it until you take a moment and step back, and think about all that has happened in half of a year. 6 months ago I was laying in a hospital bed impatiently waiting the arrival of my baby boy. After 4 ½ hrs of pushing, he was finally vacuumed out at 10:40 pm. Dr. Hoff pulled him half way out, unwrapped the cord that was wrapped all around his body, and had me pull him out the rest of the way. I pulled him right onto my chest-- he was slimy and bloody and he just looked at me with these big eyes and I was so overwhelmed that I just started to cry uncontrollably. I looked at this little thing laying on me and knew my life would never be the same. Neither Jeremy nor I could take our eyes off of him- he was the cutest thing we’d ever seen…and he was ours. It was by far the most unbelievable experience of my life. And now, 6 months later, I am still amazed by how much our lives have changed, how I can love someone so much, and how incredible this journey has been, and continues to be. Sometimes I am just consumed by how much love I have for my son. I never imagined being a parent could be this amazing. 6 months have passed since Jayden was born and every day just gets better and better. WE LOVE YOU JAYDEN WILLIAM MACK!!!!!!!!!!

"What, who's 6 months old?"
