Mama's 30th birthday weekend

I turned the big 3-0 yesterday, and, in following with the Mack tradition, we made a weekend out of the celebration (and lucky for me, my birthday fell on a long weekend, so I had 3+ days of celebrating)!

On Friday, Jayden and I met up with our new friends Daniel and Van and went to a concert at the UTC Mall. After the concert, we walked around the mall and Van and I got to hang out as the boys ran around and had a blast playing together. That night, Jayden and daddy gave me my birthday present...diamond earrings!!!!!! I was in shock...they are absolutely beautiful and I am so lucky to have such generous boys in my life.

On Saturday morning, Daddy let me sleep in and he took Jayden to Seaport village, while I took a nice relaxing shower. Jayden had a lot of fun with daddy- he went on a firetruck and even got his own cookie (and brought one back for mommy too)! In the afternoon, Uncle AG came to visit (after a brutal 4 hr drive from LA to SD). We all went out to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack and had a great time eating crab, hanging out, and watching Jayden actually sitting and eating/drinking at a restaurant.

Sunday morning we woke up, had brunch at DZ Akins, and then showed Uncle AG our house and our park. After J's nap, we met up with some friends and went to a concert at a park in Coronado. We had picnic dinner while the kids ran around. They have these concerts every Sunday night throughout the summer, so we will definitely be going back every week!

Monday was my actual birthday (4th day of celebrating!!!) and Jayden, Daddy and I spent the morning walking around Seaport Village. When Jayden woke up from his nap, we met up with grandma and grandpa and we all headed to Coronado for dinner. Since the birthday girl got to plan the evening, we had pizza by the beach, then walked along the boardwalk, got some ice cream, and spent the evening playing in the sand...my perfect night-- pizza, chocolate, beach, and family...what more could anyone ask for?!!!!!

My boys sure outdid themselves this weekend...don't think I could ever top my 30th =)

Preschool Class

Since moving to San Diego, we have been fortunate to meet some great moms and find out about some awesome toddler classes that are offered by the city for FREE. For the past couple of weeks we have been going to a 12-24 month preschool class where Jayden gets to play with LOTS of toys, interact with other kids, and I get to meet and talk with lots of moms. The class is from 9am to noon, includes music, dancing, art, storytime, and, of course, play time...Jayden loves it and so do I! We've been going once a week, but the new semester starts in a few weeks, and we will start going twice a week.

The art project for next week is a making a collage of their time at school, so we were supposed to take pictures of our kids playing in the classroom today...for your viewing pleasure, here's a few of the little man playing...

Happy 19 months Jayden

Jayden is growing up in front of our eyes and I want to make time go a little slower because before I know it he will be going off to school and he will no longer be my little man. We are having so much fun together- meeting new people, making new friends, going to new places, getting to know our new home together. His vocabulary is exploding and he is so close to putting words together. He now gives hugs and kisses on command, and loves to snuggle on the couch with me. Jayden is the happiest little boy and we, of course, love him to pieces.

Hot diggity dog

We had to stop at Target the other day and I didn't pack anything for J for dinner, so we went to the food court at and got J a hot dog. Of course our picky eater took one bite of the bread, and that's it, but at least we got a cute picture out of it. He did end up eating mac and cheese for the 1st time, loaded with ketchup of course, since that's his 2nd favorite food (pasta being his one and only true love). We're hoping one day he'll start to try some different foods, but for now, it's pasta and veggie smoothies!

What better way to end the day

Daddy had to spend ALL day working, so when he came home for dinner we decided to go do something fun... we drove to Coronado, picked up some pizza, and had dinner on the beach. Life is good in San Diego =)

It's the moments that count

I just had one of those moments that I hope I never ever forget...my lil man, who NEVER sits still, woke up from his nap, hugged me, and we snuggled on the couch together for about 20 minutes. Every couple of minutes he would look up at me and smile...and my heart just melted...I love you Jayden William Mack =)

Wild Animal Park

When you get a membership to the zoo, you also get to go to the wild animal park for free. It's in Escondido, which is north east of San Diego, and gets well over 100 in the summer, so I wanted to take Jayden now, before it gets too hot. Jayden had a blast in the petting area (where we saw a 3 week old rhino), and also loved riding in the cars with his animal friends. It was fun, but we didn't stay too long because it was almost 100 by 11 am...I don't think we'll go back there until next winter- good thing we live so close to the zoo!

Back to the zoo

We were supposed to hang out with friends today, but Jayden woke up with a cold, so we went to the zoo instead. Jayden rode around the zoo in style- sittin' in his "new" car. We spent most of the morning at the children's zoo, but we also went on the sky tram for the 1st time (which he LOVED) and got to see the polar bears.

Photo shoot...just becuz

Now that I have Jeremy's old iphone, I can actually take pictures again (I always forgot to bring our camera with me, but my phone is always with me). Jayden and I were hanging out on the deck this afternoon and he just looked so cute...and so OLD, so I had to do a quick photo shoot. The pics are just too cute not to post =)
