Maxley Spring Break Day 2: Temecula

On Sunday we drove up to Temecula to go wine tasting. We found this great little winery that had an outdoor tasting room, picnic tables, and farm animals...we brought plenty of snacks and toys for the kids and we all had a blast. The kids ran around, played with each other, looked at the goats and horses, and enjoyed harassing the old dog. It was a perfect day!

Maxley Spring Break Day 1: Birthday dinner

Paul, Loni, Ava and Hanna came to visit a few weeks ago and we had the best week ever! They got to SD Saturday afternoon and we spent the afternoon/evening catching up and watching the kids play outside. That night we had a big birthday dinner- Loni and Ava's b-day were last month, Paul's was last week, and it was Jayden's 1/2 b-day, so we had a yummy dinner, cupcakes, and some presents for the kids. We ended the night with all the kids in the tub!

Carlsbad flower fields

Last week we met up with Jenny and Clay (who were visiting friends in the OC) and headed to the flower gardens in Carlsbad. It was absolutely beautiful and Jayden loved running around and going on the tractor ride.

Emily comes to visit

We haven't seem Emily in almost 2 yrs...Jayden wasn't even walking the last time we saw her. Well, a few weeks ago we were lucky enough to have Emily come visit us (after doing a photo shoot in LA). We had a blast, went to La Jolla and Coronado and hung out in the hot tub. Jayden loved the attention and didn't want Emily to leave. Can't believe we've been friends for 25+ years!

AG's birthday weekend

Last weekend we went up to LA for Passover, but, thanks to G & G, got to go up a day early (without J) and helped uncle AG celebrate his 27th birthday. We got there Sat night and went out to dinner and tried to pretend we weren't old parents and hit the bars, except we were exhausted by midnight- haha! On Sunday we headed to Malibu driving up the PCH in Jamie's convertible- AMAZING!!! We went to this really cool winery and relaxed, talked, played bocce ball, and pretended we were real adults and not just Jayden's mom and dad. We then headed over to Myron and Susan's house to meet up with the fam and J and celebrated Passover. It was a GREAT weekend.

7.2

Well, we just survived our 2nd earthquake...and Jayden slept through it AGAIN! We were at the beach all day and Jayden passed out on Jer on our way back to the car. We got to the car and Jer was about to put Jayden in his carseat when all of a sudden or car started rolling back and forth and the ground started to shake...it lasted for several minutes and was pretty scary, and, just like last time, Jayden slept through it all. There were a few aftershocks, but our house is fine. Gotta love living in California!

Why this madness is all worth it

This afternoon Jayden and I were playing with his truck and I said to him, "Jayden, mommy has to go to the gym in a few minutes, but you can play trucks with Daddy."

He stopped playing, and said, "ok mommy, have fun at the gym, I love you."

My heart melted onto the floor. No matter how much chaos/craziness/madness a child brings to your life, it's moments like this that make it all worth it.

Jayden's artwork

Ever since J started school, we've had loads of art work and, until now, had no where to display it. We put a few pieces on the fridge, which J usually just ends up pulling down. I saw this idea on a friend's blog and thought it would be perfect to go above J's toy organizer. We put it up last night and it was the 1st thing J noticed when he came downstairs this morning. He talked about each piece and was so proud! I think we're going to put another one up in his room for his favorite projects.

Sandbox

Our new routine is to come home from school, say hi to daddy, and then go downstairs and play in the sandbox. Jayden takes his trucks and makes up all kinds of stories...so cool to watch him learning to play be himself...can't believe how quickly he's growing up.

Spring is here

We did NOTHING this weekend and we had so much fun. The weather was perfect and we spent all weekend hanging out at home, playing in the sprinkler, eating popsicles, and just enjoying our backyard. This picture pretty much sums up our weekend...

Fun with friends
