I couldn't have asked for a better mother's day-- it was the most perfect day!!!I had so much fun spending time with my family and watching Jayden play with his grandparents. The only problem with this weekend is that now I have no idea what we're going to do to top this for father's day!

The Bestest Mother's Day EVER!!!!
Wow, what an amazing weekend we had! On Friday, Jeremy came home with my mother's day present and, of course, I had to open it right away!! He made me a beautiful collage of pictures of me and our little man and had it framed- it was the PERFECT mother's day gift. Then, on Saturday afternoon, we had a family picnic at Foster City. After our picnic, we came back home for Jayden to nap, and, when he woke up, we went straight to the airport to pick up grandma and grandpa. Jayden was so excited to see his grandparents! We went right to the pool and went for a quick swim! After our swim, we had a yummy BBQ dinner and then put Jayden down for the night...while we all played the Wii. On Sunday, after I kicked grandpa's butt in tennis, Daddy made us his famous Sunday morning french toast breakfast. With our belly's full, we drove to Palo Alto to check out Gamble Gardens, a beautiful flower garden near my old school. We ate yummy fresh fruit, listened to music, and played with Jayden. It was way too hot though, so we packed up and were planning on heading home so Jayden could take his nap, but he passed out on me as we were leaving and didn't even move as we put him in his carseat, so we decided to just let him nap in the car and go on another adventure. Daddy knew just where to take us...the beach!!!! We drove to Half Moon Bay and spent the rest of the afternoon/evening playing at the beach. We then ate some yummy sandwiches and headed home because Grandma and Grandpa had to go back to San Diego=(

It's the weeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkend!!
So, in a matter of days, Jayden can now get himself into a sitting position and sit all on his own, and can also pull himself up to standing. This kid is growing and changing like CRAZY. He hasn't really been crawling too much, which I'm fine with, but I'm sure he's going to be moving all around our apartment any day now.
Grandma and Grandpa are coming to visit this afternoon and we can't wait for them to see our little man. The last time they saw him, J was still a little baby- he wasn't moving at all! Grandma Mack is also coming in a few weeks so J gets to be spoiled with hugs and kisses by both his grandparents!!

Jayden's Posse
When Jayden was 2 months old, we joined a playgroup with several other local moms. Every week we meet to talk about our children, our husbands, our lack of will power to get off our butts and work out, the rising gas prices ($4.20 now in the Bay area!)... and pretty much any and everything else going on in our lives. We cry, laugh, bitch etc, but most of all, we support one another in this crazy ride called motherhood! Oh yeah, and our children "play together" too! For some reason, we always forget to take a group shot of the kidlets, so today I brought my camera and finally got some pics of Jayden's posse.

Jayden has a bit of a crush on Lucy. He likes to roll on top of her and touch her face or play with her hair. So cute!!
I absolutely love this picture...yes, i know the picture itself isn't that great, but the story it tells is hilarious! Jayden has been getting fussy when we go to put his PJ's on after his bath (now that he can move around he does not like being placed on his back). So, the other day he was fussing and Jeremy covered his face with the towel as a joke...well, all of sudden, he just froze, stopped whining, and just laid there in some weird trance. We kept the towel on for a few minutes as we changed his diaper and put his PJs on and the he didn't move or make a peep the entire time. We've done it every night since and he has the exact same reaction. We have no idea why this causes J to freeze mid whine, but hey, it works, so we'll just roll with it!

Here are some other random pics that I've taken this week. We've been busy this week going on walks, hanging out in the park, having playdates, and going swimming. Jayden's 2nd tooth came in on Wednesday and he is now finally back to eating his solids. Tonight he pulled himself up to a standing position for the 1st time, which was pretty cool to watch. He 1st went up on all fours (on his hands and feet and butt way up in the air), then came down to his knees and pulled himself up to standing- it was so crazy to watch. He's also into making this really high pitched squeal and he tries to go so high that sometimes his voice cracks. He is still a smiling machine and smiles at everyone and everything. Mommy and Daddy fall more and more in love with this kid every moment of every day.
Standing all by himself, after pulling himself up all on his own (such a big boy)...this is happening way too fast =(
Hey, what are these things? How come you people have been hiding these from me for so long? These are PERFECT for gnawing on!

A day in the life of Jayden William
Jayden is at such a fun age now. He's still relatively small and cuddly, but he's no longer a helpless little baby- he actually plays with his toys and enjoys going places and doing and seeing things. When he was younger I would take J places, but he was just "there for the ride", he didn't actually enjoy the experience. But now that he's a big boy, and is interested in his surroundings, I'm trying to take him to fun places every day. Since today is Monday (and EVERYONE hates Mondays), I always try to make Mondays an action packed day (so we don't miss Daddy too much). So, for all of you that don't get to visit often, here's a day in the life of a very happy (and adorable) baby boy...
Our mornings start anywhere from 7-7:30 (again, thank you Ferber, you are still my BFF!!!!!). Daddy gets up at 7 and hops in the shower, while J eats and gets his very heavy pee-filled diaper changed. We then hang out in the living room and play until Daddy is ready to go. When Daddy is ready, we hop in the car and take Daddy to the train. After lots of kisses, we come back home and play like crazy. Jayden is at his absolute best in the mornings. He has so much fun with his toys and LOVES to explore. Most mornings I put him in the exersaucer and he'll play by himself, investigating all the toys as if he's never seen them before. After the exersaucer, we always read a couple of books (his favorite books right now are I Love you Through and Through, Ten Little Ladybugs, and Bears Busy Family). J loves to grab the books from me and puts them directly into his mouth. He hasn't quite mastered changing the pages yet, but he puts his hand on the pages and rubs his hand over the pictures as I'm reading. After reading, I spread out his toys and he crawls/scoots around and plays with whatever seems to interest him at the moment. He's getting really good at playing with his toys while on his belly, but he also pushes himself up to a seated/side leaning position to play with some of his toys.
Around 9:30-10ish, J starts to get tired, and goes down for his morning nap. This is when Mommy showers, eats breakfast, and packs our bags to get ready for the day. Since it was nice out, I thought it would be fun to spend the morning at the park. Jayden loved playing in the sand -- he loved picking it up and letting it run through his fingers (and, surprisingly, he didn't try to put it in his mouth!). I kept putting sand on top of his feet and he would just turn and look at me, like "c'mon mom, what are you doing to me?"
We also went on the swings, which Jayden absolutely loves. He, however, only likes the swings if I sit down so I am at eye level with him. He smiles and giggles the whole time and can't get enough of the swings!
After swinging we laid on a blanket and played some more. I attempted to feed J his carrots, but failed miserably. Jayden has refused all solids (even his favorites like apple and sweet potatoes) ever since his tooth came in. I keep trying and he just either keeps his mouth closed, or opens up for the spoon, spits out the food and chews on the spoon.
After the park, we ran a few errands and came home for Jayden's afternoon nap. This is when Mommy eats lunch, cleans the house, and watches tv/relaxes...yeah for Mommy time!! Over the weekend they began heating the pool to 80 degrees, so it's finally warm enough to bring Jayden swimming. Since J loves the water so much, I thought he'd have fun going for a swim this afternoon. Jayden LOVES the water- i mean this kid goes crazy in the water. From he moment his feet enter the water, he does not stop kicking and smiling.
We played in the water for about 40 minutes, and then came upstairs to change and eat dinner. Again, Jayden decided that he's too cool for solids, but he did eat some of his puffs. After eating, we played some more and waited for Daddy to call to tell us which train he was taking.
Then, after a long exciting day, we drove back to the train to get Daddy. Jayden gets so excited when daddy comes home.
Daddy and Jayden play/rough house for a bit, while I make dinner, clean up, get J's stuff ready for bed, and then it's Jayden's favorite time of the day- bath time!!! Daddy always give J his bath at night and Jayden can't get enough of his bath (and his daddy).
After bath time, we sing, read and give our baby boy some hugs and kisses and say goodnight. And J drifts off to sleep, obviously dreaming about the exciting adventures we're going to go on tomorrow.
