TEAM MACK: Jayden is being FERBERIZED

This has been an action packed week for us. Jayden is getting his bottom (4???) teeth and isn't too happy about it. He's rolling like crazy (I can no longer put him somewhere and go away to grab something). He now has this wierd sucking on his lower lip habit and will just sit there and suck away. He loves to explore everything with his hands...he's found his ears and his "special area"- but mostly he likes to suck on his fingers/fist! We started giving him some solids (oatmeal and avocado). He likes the oatmeal, but wasn't too excited about the avocado (we'll have to try that again when he's a little older). On Thursday, Grandma Sue came to visit and Jayden was very happy! We had a lot of fun together and we even got to go to one of our favorite places- Half Moon Bay. The weather has been PERFECT, so we've been going on walks every day (lets hope it stays like this, i don't know if we can handle anymore rain). Oh yeah, the big exciting news... Daddy started to Ferberize our little man this weekend. For those of you who don't know what that means, we're using Dr Ferber's sleep training method that teaches your baby how to fall asleep by himself (for the last 4 months we've been patting and rocking J to bed and it can take anywhere from 5 min to 2 hrs- NOT FUN). Jayden has been a champ. Both nights he fell asleep withing 5 minutes ALL BY HIMSELF- we were completely shocked. He still has been waking up A LOT throughout the night, but Daddy has been doing the progressive waiting and J is learning to put himself back to bed- we are VERY proud of our big boy.
